鈴鹿ができてすぐのころ、お客さまがサーキット内でしか食事できないのを いいことに、食事関係はボッタクリ料金を設定しようとしていた。それを知った 宗一郎が、「わざわざ高い金を払ってレースを見に来てくださったお客さまから、 さらにそんなアコギなやり方で金を取るとはどういうつもりだ」と激怒。 それ以来鈴鹿の飯は良心的な価格なのです。

サーキット内には「ごみを捨てないでください」という看板があったが、これにも 激怒。「最初からお客さまを信用していないようなことを書くな。そんなことより お客さまがゴミを捨てる気を起こさないような場内にしろ（まめに掃除しろ）」と、 それ以来鈴鹿にゴミが落ちていないかどうかは知らん。

鈴鹿が遊園地のくせに地元の名産品を置いてるのにも、やっぱり自分とこの 儲けより、地元とお客さまに喜んでもらえるようにという意味がある。
